Calvary Community Baptist Church in Northglenn, Colorado is looking to make changes to their existing building and enlisted the help of Mountain West Architects. Mountain West Architects showed Calvary Community Baptist Church the potential their church facility has in achieving their ministry goals. The church decided to break the renovations up over multiple phases. During phase 1 the main goal is to change how the Sanctuary and Children’s church accommodated church members.
Achieving those goals in the Sanctuary meant enlarging the current platform to hold more people on stage at one time. The new platform also needs to be accessible with a new ramp. Adding a new baptistry on the platform and updating flooring and finishes in the entire room is also a priority. The new baptistry is placed along the back wall of the platform so that it can be visible from all angles. Enlarging the platform allows for more space on stage and for the new accessible ramp. The flooring received new commercial carpet and new paint was applied to all the walls. A wood treatment accent was added along the back wall of the platform.
In the Children’s ministry classrooms there was a need to create a large assembly room. To accomplish this goal the church converted their existing cafeteria into an assembly room that better accommodates the ministry. In future phases, the church will section off classrooms that will be entered by one Children’s check-in entrance. This phase involves more demolition and building additional restrooms, which is why it is listed under a future phase.
During phase 1 Calvary Community Baptist Church also installed the new carpet, that is in the Sanctuary, in the entrance, foyer and the Children’s ministry assembly room. All areas received new paint as well. The final renovations for phase 1 covered 4,863.49 square feet.
“Mountain West Architects went above and beyond in giving us their time, answering our questions and looking at our church’s potential before even entering into a formal contract. Since deciding to work with them they have been wonderful at communicating, catching our vision and seeking to help our church reach our overall ministry goals through this renovation project. They have been wonderful to work with and I highly recommend them!”
